April 28, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Bruce Gill, the Executive Director of Harriton House, presents a lecture on Charles Thomson, an Irish-born patriot leader during the American Revolution and Secretary of the Continental Congress.
Located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Harriton House is the historic 18th century residence where Thomson lived. Bruce Gill opened the museum to the public in 1976 for the Bicentennial. He has a Master’s degree in American Civilization from George Washington University and studied at the Smithsonian for two years as part of a cooperative program. During Gill’s time at Harriton House, the museum has grown to include not only the 6-room historic house museum but also a livestock stable, an education and administrative center, and a blacksmith shop.
