Bruce Gill, the Executive Director of Harriton House, presents a lecture on Charles Thomson, an Irish-born patriot leader during the American Revolution and Secretary of the Continental Congress.

Located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Harriton House is the historic 18^th century residence where Thomson lived.  Bruce Gill opened the museum to the public in 1976 for the Bicentennial.  He has a Master’s degree in American Civilization from George Washington University and studied at the Smithsonian for two years as part of a cooperative program.  During Gill’s time at Harriton House, the museum has grown to include not only the 6-room historic house museum but also a livestock stable, an education and administrative center, and a blacksmith shop.

This lecture will be held in the Rock Ford Barn.

Admission: $5 for non-members.  Free for members of the Rock Ford Foundation.
