Do you enjoy talking to people? Do you have a love of history? Are you interested in volunteering for a non-profit organization? If so, Rock Ford wants to meet you! We are currently seeking tour guides (docents) to conduct house tours during our tour season. We will be hosting a Volunteer Recruitment Event beginning with an introduction to be held in the Barn at 1 pm. Tour guide/docent requirements:

A docent is someone who translates the past into the present. A docent makes Rock Ford’s past vivid and real for museum visitors. A docent acts as a companion accompanying a visitor on a personal and historical discovery.

• A docent can be any person aged 16 years and up.
• No experience is necessary.
• Training will be provided by our Curator.
• Printed materials are provided so that all docents can become confident, successful and valuable members of Rock Ford.
• A docent should have the ability to be on your feet for an hour and the ability to climb stairs.
