RULES REGARDING PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

Although Historic Rock Ford is located in Lancaster County Central Park, the mansion and its surrounding acreage are privately owned by the Rock Ford Foundation and supported and maintained by its members.

Throughout the year, the grounds of Historic Rock Ford are used for many purposes and events, both private and public. In order to ensure the continued enjoyment of our grounds, we require professional photographers to be Photographer Members of the Rock Ford Foundation. If the individual taking portrait photography is not a professional photographer, Rock Ford Foundation requires that at least one member of the group be a Family Level Member.

We advise that photographers follow these suggested rules and guidelines for taking portrait photography on the premises:

  1. Please contact the Historic Rock Ford office (717-392-7223, option “4”) or email office@HistoricRockFord.org to inform us when photography will be conducted on our grounds. We suggest 24 hours notice for sessions during weekdays and 48 hours notice during weekends due to wedding rentals on weekends. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. However, messages may be left on our voice mail at any time outside normal business hours.

  2. No professional photography is permitted during wedding rentals as the wedding party has exclusive rights to the grounds for that day.

  3. For wedding receptions that are not held at Historic Rock Ford, wedding photographs may be taken on-site only on days when a wedding or other event is not scheduled. The charge for such wedding photography will be at the rate of $250 per hour and must be arranged in advance with the Rock Ford office. (Please note that reserved wedding receptions will always take priority.)

  4. Wedding photography is available at no additional charge to guests who are holding their wedding reception on the grounds of Historic Rock Ford.

We thank you for your assistance is following these guidelines and appreciate your support of Rock Ford Foundation.
