This new play written and directed by Katherine Campbell Rossi provides a look into the life of Marie Antoinette during the time when she reigned as France’s new, young and vivacious Queen. Presented in collaboration with the Orpheus Theatre Company in the Langmuir Education Room of the Barn.
From the Orpheus Theatre description of the play: It is past midnight on Marie Antoinette’s birthday. All the party guests have been sent home while the young Dauphine and her husband are trapped in her chambers with their sniping brother-in-law, his wife, and the Duchess de Polignac (Antoinette’s closest friend) as they await an unknown surprise outside the door. Tensions rise as games are played, champagne drunk, and loves tested.
